My Sato Love..A happy ending for Lucia! now Dottie

Dear Gloria or to whom it may concern,
I am just writing to thank you for saving my now baby Lucia, (who now goes by the name of, Dottie).  She is the love of my life!  We love to play together and with other dogs.  And we take lots of long walks through town and along the ocean.  Dottie is healthy and we couldn't be happier together.  Thank you for all you do with your amazing SATO program!  Attached is a picture of us- enjoy!
Sincerely,

A Happy ending for Chispa (Pumpkin)

Dear friends at Save A Sato,

I am meeting a new veterinarian today, and so my family was reviewing my paperwork, and decided you may want an update on my life.
You may remember me as Chispa, from 2010.  You were all kind enough then to rescue me from the streets of Puerto Rico. Then, I was brought to the United States.
Eventually I ended up at a shelter in Worcester, Massachusetts. My owners were there looking for a dog, and they said, "how about that little brown one over there?". They still say that I found them somehow. My owner was going through a rough time herself, and as we got to know each other, she often said we saved each other.

She named me "Pumpkin" because of my beautiful coat, and brought me to Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, where I now happily live. I have a cushy dog bed on the floor with a big heavy blanket that I love to burrow in at night. They also have bought me warm outfits for the winter. We take long walks together in the arboretum here, and though I'm wary of running into too many other dogs, I love to take long hikes. They can tell from how I act that I had a rough childhood but are careful to pay attention to when I get too nervous. Sometimes when I'm off leash in a big grassy area I run around and around in circles - I love to run!  We've been through the first two levels of dog obedience class at the local MSPCA and this has helped me to know what my owners need me to respond to. We all communicate now pretty well. I have a sibling cat who puts up with me, because I really love cats.  I get to go to work with my mom on some days and I run through the building saying hello to all of my friends at the office. I also went on vacation with my family to New Hampshire this year, and got to hike the mountains and canoe in the lake (I'm not sure how I feel about swimming!).

So you can see, I'm doing really well, and I can't thank you enough for helping me to get off the streets and for seeing that I could be an amazing dog if I had another chance. I have found my lifelong family, and am a happy, well settled dog. I hope that you are able to continue to help other dogs like me for a long time! Thank you for all of your kindness and for seeing something in me,

Sincerely,
"Chispa" (now Pumpkin) and her owners

Enzo the Sato

Mariana Lola Lopez escribe:

I luv u Enzo and I ♥ the Piña's gracias por una gran lección de vida xo L*

Sato, por Amarilly De Jesus

Sato

Deambulaste por tantos callejones
solo, cabizbajo, lastimado y sediento

Save A Sato has taken the pledge!!

http://www.justoneday.ws/

What is a day?
There are many ways to answer that question.
A day is 24 hours. A day is how we measure how much time we spend at work. A day can be something we look forward to, a celebration of some kind. But in U.S. animal shelters, a day represents 10,411 lives needlessly lost.
To most people, June 11 is Just One Day. But, June 11 is a day that could change everything for 10,411 companion animals, and a day that can change the world. On June 11, 2012, we could be a No Kill nation.
We are asking animal shelters across the USA to take a pledge not to kill any savable animals on June 11, 2012. For Just One Day, "Euthanasia Technicians" will put down their syringes and pick up cameras. Instead of injecting animals with lethal doses of sodium pentobarbital, they will photograph them and post them on the Internet, on Facebook, on twitter. On June 11, 2012, they will market their animals to the public, they will reach out to rescue groups, they will host adoption events with discounted rates, they will stay open for extended hours, and they will ask their communities to help them empty the shelter the good way.
Instead of going into body bags in freezers, the animals will go out the front door in the loving arms of families. At the end of the day, the shelters will be emptier than when the day started. And, no one will have had to die in order to make that happen. To help them succeed, the No Kill Advocacy Center, Animal Ark and Animal Wise Radio are teaming up to offer shelters the tools they need to be successful.

Please help us spread the word! Share this page!

Another dog dumped on the streets! Que nos pasa PR?

This morning, Save A Sato was called to report another sato dumped on the streets of Puerto Rico, Gloria Marti, S.A.S president went personally to verify this information and she found out that this sato mom, was thrown away to the streets, because she was giving birth! The dog found shelter under the stairs of a building.
This poor sato mom, was figting to take away all the fire ants, that her little puppies had all around their little bodies! :(
The sato mom and puppies has been rescued and taken to the Shelter of Miracles from Save A Sato, the puppies has been cleaned and taken away all the fire ants.
The puppies had Fire ants bytes all around their heads and body parts!
The mom and the puppies are safe now, at the shelter, we hope that the puppies get well during the days and survive to the ant's bytes, Gloria wanted to address the people that keeps dumping dogs, because they are pregnant, or they get tired of them to stop doing this! if you get a dog, be responsible enough to sterilize him/her, and if you let them roam around the streets, without being sterilized be responsible for the result and don't take the easy way, like the owner of this dog did!
