Where do the dogs come from?

This is a question that was asked of me recently, so I thought I would share with you an interesting rescue story from just this week. Her name is Lucinda, our newest sato rescue.

It was just another day at the shelter, Gloria bustling around doing her chores, when the mailman arrived to deliver more than just the typical junk mail. He informed Gloria that he had walked past a little dog lying in the street on his delivery route, she was hit by a car and left there, he thought she was still alive.

Gloria had the mailman immediately bring her to the spot were the dog was lying. She was in terrible shape, Gloria careful bundled her broken body and got her to the vets office. Lucinda has a broken pelvis, but with the help of a special angel that is sponsoring her care she is expected to make a full recovery.

Lucinda is pictured below, shortly after arriving at the vet - This is her before picture, after her recovery and a good grooming she will look like a totally different dog!

So where do the satos at our shelter come from? Many people from all walks of life who take a moment of their time to stop and help an animal - tourists, police officers, local residents, business employees, restaurant owners, security guards and even the mailman contact us to help a dog in need. We thanks those that have the compassion to stop and help, they pave the way for these lucky dogs to find their forever homes.

  2. I pray God gives you all long lives and the will to continue this very important work. There is a reason Dog is God spelled backwards.
